Came Across A Post

... Read moreI recently came across a quote that really struck a chord with me: "WHEN YOU FINALLY LEARN YOUR PLACE IN PEOPLE'S LIVES, YOUR FEELINGS WON'T GET HURT." This simple yet profound truth resonates deeply because learning where we stand in relationships allows us to manage expectations and reduce emotional distress. From personal experience, accepting the roles we play in others' lives—whether as a close friend, family member, or acquaintance—helps set healthy boundaries. When I was younger, I often felt hurt when my efforts to connect were not reciprocated the way I hoped. Over time, I realized that understanding people's capacity and willingness to engage with me clarified the nature of my relationships. This realization can be applied universally—to friendships, family, and even casual acquaintances. Recognizing that not everyone will prioritize you in the same way frees you from unnecessary pain and disappointment. It encourages us to appreciate the connections that are genuine and accept those that are limited without taking it personally. On the lighter side, connecting this insight with the affectionate and uncomplicated love of pets, like cats and kittens, can also remind us of unconditional bonds. Pets do not judge our place in their lives—they offer consistent companionship. This contrast highlights the complexity of human relationships and the importance of emotional self-awareness. Ultimately, embracing this life lesson cultivates resilience and emotional intelligence. It encourages us to focus on nurturing meaningful connections while preserving our peace of mind. I highly recommend reflecting on your own relationships and considering where you fit within them—it’s a step towards healthier and happier emotional living.

I will never make myself small again to fit in with anyone. I am a strong, confident, loving woman with empathy and compassion. I am who I am. All of the traumas I’ve endured have molded me into this woman, but I can also be that tiny little girl who is afraid to be me too. I’m leaving a relationship due to lack of respect and compassion for me. 27 years it took me to become strong enough to say enough. Yes, therapy is helping and necessary, for me to get back the years locked away in my subconscious and to stay me. IYKYK
