🚨 BREAKAGE DOESN’T FIX ITSELF 🚨
Yesterday I had a client with significant breakage around the nape and perimeter caused by previous color damage. The ends in those areas were split and beginning to travel up the hair shaft.
Many people think holding onto damaged ends will help them keep length, but the opposite is true. Once hair splits, it continues to unravel higher and higher, causing even more breakage over time.
Instead of waiting until the damage spread throughout the entire head, we trimmed the compromised areas and shaped the hair into a healthy bob. This allows the hair to grow from a stronger foundation while preventing those splits from causing further damage.
Healthy hair will always beat long damaged hair.
A trim doesn’t stop growth. It protects it.
If your ends are thin, see through, rough, or constantly breaking, your hair may be asking for a trim not another style.
Healthy hair starts with making the hard decisions. Sometimes that means letting go of damaged ends today so you can keep your length tomorrow. 💙

From my experience, many clients mistakenly believe that avoiding trims will help keep their hair longer. However, damaged ends only worsen over time. I once had a client with breakage around the nape and perimeter—split ends were creeping up the shaft, compromising the overall health of her hair. Trimming those damaged sections was a game changer. It created a strong foundation for growth, allowing healthier strands to flourish without continuous unraveling. This approach aligns with what many hairstylists recommend: a healthy trim does not stop hair growth but rather protects it from further damage. An effective way to identify if your hair needs a trim is by checking the ends for thinness, transparency, rough texture, or frequent breakage. These signs often indicate that your hair is crying out for professional intervention rather than just a new style. Prioritizing hair health means sometimes sacrificing length temporarily to promote long-term strength. Also, adopting consistent hair care routines post-trim, such as regular conditioning and minimizing heat styling, supports recovery and growth from a healthier base. In summary, healthy hair growth is less about sparing every inch of length and more about maintaining the integrity of the hair shaft from root to tip. Trims remove the problematic sections and give your hair the best chance to grow longer and stronger over time.
