Being 30 minutes late with no communication is unacceptable. Respecting my time is just as important as me respecting yours.

Saying you couldn’t find my number isn’t a valid excuse when my number is everywhere. And even if you genuinely couldn’t find it, you found me on social media. A simple message would’ve let me know what was going on, and I could’ve understood the situation a lot better.

Instead, there was no communication until after the appointment had already been canceled.

Business is business, and I’ve never played about mine. My policies apply to everyone because I value my time and the time of every client who shows up as scheduled.

Please be on time. If you’re running late, communicate. It’s really that simple. #hairstylist #hairstylistproblems #lateclient #relateable #fyp

... Read moreFrom my years of experience dealing with clients, I have learned firsthand how important punctuality and communication are in maintaining a successful professional relationship. One situation that repeatedly stands out is when clients arrive 30 minutes late without any prior notice or explanation. This is not just about inconvenience—it disrupts the entire schedule and impacts other clients who have been respectful of the set times. I remember a particular instance where a client was late and claimed they couldn’t find my contact number. However, knowing how accessible my info is—available on my social media profiles and business card—this felt more like an excuse rather than a genuine issue. When someone takes a moment to send a simple message explaining their delay, it shows a recognition of my time and effort, allowing me to adjust the day accordingly or offer understanding. Respecting appointment times is a two-way street. I have personal policies that I enforce fairly because I value both my own time and that of those who honor their appointments. Canceling an appointment after a no-show without communication is disappointing, but often necessary to maintain professionalism and set clear boundaries. It also protects the livelihood of service providers who work hard to manage a tight schedule. While emergencies happen and sometimes people genuinely cannot reach out in time, I encourage everyone to try their best. Technology today makes communication easier than ever, whether through a quick call, text, or social media message. This simple act can prevent misunderstandings and preserve good client-provider relationships. Ultimately, being punctual and communicative benefits everyone involved. It fosters respect, trust, and smooth everyday operations in any professional setting. From hairstylists to consultants and beyond, this etiquette is crucial for success and mutual respect in business dealings.
