👍Pros:

1) it’s super rewarding and you feel great helping others

2) when people thank you you feel like a hero

3) your a face people will not forget

4) your helping people and saving lives

5) it’s fun you get to ride the boo-boo truck

6) people admire you and look up to you

7) you’ll have a great team to work with

8) great job opportunities it looks good on your resume

9) constantly learning new things

10) making connections with people

11) everyday it’s something new and different to look forward too you never know what you’ll get and your adrenaline pumps

🤔Cons:

1) you will not save everyone

2) the smells you’ll deal with are HORRIBLE

3) sometimes you’ll feel like shit and grief

4) you’ll feel guilty (which you shouldn’t)

5) it’s super exhausting and long hours

6) it isn’t easy

7) people have high standards and expectations for you

8) some people won’t want help

9) some people just use the ambulance as an Uber to the hospital

10) it can be damaging to your mental health…

11) you’ll feel constant fatigue, pressure, stress, tired, overwhelmed… etc

Been an EMT 2 years I do not feel guilty because I remember I am not the say all we just entertain the patient till a higher power makes that decision!! Death is not always the worst outcome!!
