The Body & Christ

- First picture is back at the end of February, I was constantly in the gym and training for the upcoming track season. I loved my body and watching it transform with the work I was doing. I was close to 105 lbs and I am 4’11

- Second Picture was at the end June, I had gone through a very difficult and mentally challenging track season, and got broken up with by my boyfriend of almost a year. I stopped working out, I stopped running and almost stopped functioning in general. I was barely eating yet I was gaining weight. I was on 6 different medications for mental and physical sicknesses which caused me to gain nearly 25 lbs. I was so depressed and hated everything around me and never wanted to get out of bed. But soon that all changed

-third picture was around a month later, I was taken off the medications, I began to workout again, and I grew close with God for the first time in over a year. I weigh around 95 lbs but I am healthy again, all of my tests and doctors have said I am perfectly healthy inside and out!

-4th and 5th pictures were taken just this week. I began a training program at the start of July to prepare me for my upcoming season as a D1 Track athlete. God became the center of my life, my family is my happy place, I have fallen in love with track and eating again (food is so good 😉) I’m so proud of myself. I am 100lbs even tho weight does not matter. I found God again and it changed me, I fell into healthy habits and the benefits of that are being able to look at myself and be proud of my journey.

I realized over the past 6 months that no matter what Jesus is our savior, he died on the cross for our sins and came back to save us. We were created in Gods image and no matter how much we weigh, how sick we are, how depressed we can be. He loves us, this post isn’t for inspiration on how I have changed my body, although it has been an achievement in my life, it is to show you how God loves you no matter what and you should love yourself too.

Many individuals find themselves caught in a cycle of unhealthy habits, often struggling with body image and emotional well-being. It's essential to understand that fitness is not merely about physical appearance; instead, it's about creating a balanced relationship with oneself, nourished both physically and spiritually. Engaging in exercise, like my experience with track, offers mental health benefits, including reduced anxiety and improved mood. Advice from a young follower of Christ🌸
What is modesty? Modesty isn’t about following man-made rules; it’s about searching God’s heart and growing closer to Him. Start seeking to align your heart, mind and soul with God’s truth in the area of your body and He will reveal what is right for you. Life can be full of excuses and just

things i had to unlearn after coming to Christ
i thought surrendering to Christ meant adding Him to my life. i didn’t realize it meant letting Him reshape it. when i gave my life to Jesus, He didn’t just change my habits. He challenged my thinking. He confronted my pride. He exposed the quiet beliefs i didn’t even know were shaping me.
