NORTH POLE

So many of you have asked about Santa's Workshop in North Pole, Colorado, and if it's worth a visit! For clarity, this is the Christmas-themed amusement park nestled at the base of Pikes Peak, not the one located in New York. I recently went on this adventure, and let me tell you, it's a truly magical place, especially if you're looking to capture that classic Christmas spirit with your little ones. Upon arrival, you're immediately greeted by the iconic "NORTH POLE" sign, often accompanied by a friendly elf figure on an iceberg and a large polar bear statue, setting an enchanting tone right away. The North Pole, Colorado village itself is adorable, with charming buildings featuring red and blue roofs, festive decorations everywhere, and pathways surrounded by pine trees. My kids absolutely loved the atmosphere! Regarding the rides, I'd echo the original post – they are definitely geared towards younger children. We rode the classic blue Ferris wheel, which offered some lovely views of the surrounding pine trees and distant mountains. There are also smaller rides like a carousel and various spinning attractions that are perfect for little ones. If you're traveling with teens or adults seeking thrill rides, this probably isn't your primary destination, but the pure joy on the younger children's faces makes it all worthwhile. What really impressed me, though, were the shops! They are incredibly cute and filled with unique Christmas treasures. From ornaments to toys, and even personalized items, you'll find plenty of souvenirs to remember your visit. I spent quite a bit of time browsing the "SOUVENIR SHOP" and found some delightful gifts. Don't forget to stop by the "US POST OFFICE North Pole, Colorado" building to mail your Christmas cards with a special North Pole postmark – such a fun, traditional touch! The building itself, with its red door, shutters, and log cabin details, is picture-perfect, adorned with a "COLORADO CHRISTMAS" sign. Another highlight was the "ELMER THE ELF SHOW." It's a charming, rustic wooden structure housing an animatronic elf playing a guitar amidst wrapped presents, complete with a "HOME SWEET HOME" sign inside. Simple, but it really adds to the old-fashioned holiday feel. We also enjoyed grabbing a quick bite at the outdoor dining area, where a "Condiments" stand was conveniently located. Despite some patches of snow visible on the ground, we were reminded by a sign to "WALK Don't Run TERRACE," maintaining that relaxed, family-friendly pace. Is it 'worth the money'? My honest take is yes, if you go in with the right expectations. It's not a huge, modern theme park, but rather a nostalgic step back in time to a simpler, festive experience. For families with young children who truly "Believe In Santa Claus" and want to immerse themselves in Christmas magic, it’s absolutely worth it. To make the most of your visit, I recommend going earlier in the day, especially during peak holiday season, and embracing the whimsical, kid-centric charm. It's a fantastic way to create lasting holiday memories!
