Do you need a specific glue for UV lashing?

2025/7/25 Edited to

... Read moreAs a lash artist, one of the most common questions I get about UV lash extensions is, "Do you really need a specific glue for UV lashing?" The answer, unequivocally, is YES! My journey into the world of UV lash extensions taught me that relying on just any adhesive is a recipe for disaster. The magic of UV lashing truly lies in the unique formulation of UV glue, designed for instant curing with a specialized UV light. From my personal experience, the difference between traditional lash glue and UV lash glue is night and day. Traditional glues, typically cyanoacrylate-based, rely on humidity in the air to cure. This means a gradual drying process and often a strict 24-48 hour 'no-wet' rule for clients. But with UV lash glue, as the OCR highlights, it *has to be used with the UV light for instant curing*. This isn't just a convenience; it's a fundamental shift in how extensions bond. When I first started exploring UV lash extensions, I was skeptical. Could this "instant curing" truly be better? What I've discovered is profound. The immediate curing means that the bond is fully set before the client even leaves the chair. This translates to incredibly strong adhesion, often leading to significantly better retention for clients – sometimes weeks longer than traditional methods! Fewer fills for clients, less worry for me. Comparing 'Traditional Glue vs UV light' is crucial. With traditional glue, the curing process can continue after the appointment, sometimes leading to irritation from lingering fumes. With UV glue, because the cure is instant and complete, the fumes are sealed much faster, which I've found drastically reduces sensitivity for many of my clients. The question "Will it cure?" is answered definitively with UV glue and its dedicated light: yes, and instantly! For those interested in specific brands, the 'veyes uv lash glue' query is common. While I can't endorse specific products, I can tell you that researching reputable brands known for their UV lash glues is key. Look for glues that promise flexibility, strong bond, and, most importantly, are designed for the specific wavelength of your UV lamp. It’s not just about the glue; it’s about the synergy between the glue and the light. My top tips for anyone considering or currently working with UV lash extensions: Invest in Quality: This applies to both your UV glue and your UV lamp. They are a system, and one won't work effectively without the other. Proper Training: UV lashing is different. Get certified or take advanced training to ensure you're using the products safely and effectively for both yourself and your clients. Client Education: Explain the process, the benefits of instant curing, and any safety precautions regarding the UV light. Transparency builds trust. Storage is Key: UV glues can be sensitive to light and temperature. Follow the manufacturer's storage instructions meticulously to maintain product integrity. Embracing UV lash extensions and understanding the necessity of its specific glue has been a game-changer in my practice, providing superior results and a better experience for my clients. It truly is a leap forward in the lash industry!
