I need a brand new start. 🙏🏾

2024/9/16 Edited to

... Read moreIt sounds like so many of us can relate to feeling completely drained and overwhelmed, just like you described. That heavy feeling from a demanding job, health worries, and the pressure of our own goals can truly make us feel like we're carrying the weight of the world. I've been there, feeling stretched thin and longing for a fresh start, a reset button for my mind and spirit. It's a universal struggle to balance everything life throws at us while also trying to pursue our 'goals for the future.' When I find myself in that space, one of the first things I try to do is acknowledge the overwhelm without judgment. It’s okay to not be okay! Then, I look for small ways to truly 'FiLL ME UP' – not just with quick fixes or distractions, but with things that genuinely nourish my soul and recharge my spirit. For me, that often means carving out a few quiet moments each morning, even just five minutes, to reflect, pray, or meditate. It’s like setting an intention for 'THIS WEEK LORD,' asking for guidance and strength for the days ahead, allowing myself to lean on a higher power when my own strength feels depleted. This daily ritual, however brief, helps ground me and reminds me that I'm not alone in my struggles. Another strategy that has helped me immensely is setting clear boundaries, especially when a job feels 'draining.' It's so easy to let work creep into every aspect of our lives, or to put everyone else's needs before our own. Learning to say 'no' to extra commitments, even if it feels uncomfortable at first, can create much-needed space for personal healing and growth. This isn't selfish; it's essential self-preservation and a vital step toward reclaiming your energy and time for what truly matters to *you*. Prioritizing sleep, nourishing meals, and gentle movement are also non-negotiables for me when I’m feeling stressed. When it comes to those big 'goals for the future' that feel daunting, I've learned that breaking them down into tiny, manageable steps makes a huge difference. Instead of thinking, 'I need a brand new start for my entire life,' which can be paralyzing, I focus on, 'What's one small, positive change I can make today or this week?' Maybe it’s dedicating 15 minutes to a hobby I love, taking a mindful walk, researching one aspect of a bigger goal, or simply organizing one small area of my living space. Each small victory builds confidence and momentum towards that bigger vision of a renewed life and a comprehensive 'journey to healing.' And honestly, remembering that I don't have to carry it all alone is huge. Whether it's leaning on faith, talking to a trusted friend who understands, seeking advice from a mentor, or even connecting with online communities, sharing my burdens lightens the load. This journey to healing and setting new goals isn't a race; it's a marathon with twists and turns. There will be good days and challenging days. The key is to practice self-compassion, be patient with your progress, keep showing up for yourself, keep seeking those moments of replenishment, and trust that with every small, intentional step, you're moving closer to the vibrant, peaceful 'brand new start' you truly deserve. Keep shining your light, even when it feels dim – your resilience is inspiring!
