A year in selfies 🥰
Wow, looking back at my #my2024 selfies really brings back so many memories! It's incredible how a simple photo can capture a whole mood or special moment. I wanted to share a bit more about my selfie journey this past year and maybe even spill some of my favorite tips for getting those picture-perfect shots that truly make you feel good. First off, you might notice my red hair pops in a lot of these! I've found that good lighting is absolutely everything. Natural light, especially during golden hour, is a game-changer. Try positioning yourself near a window or outdoors when the sun isn't too harsh. It makes such a difference, whether I’m rocking a cozy faux fur coat during the festive season with Christmas decorations or just a casual top with my favorite baseball cap that says '817 BABY!' – a little nod to my roots! Another key for me is experimenting with angles. Sometimes a slight tilt of the head, or holding the camera a little higher or lower, completely changes the vibe. Don't be afraid to try different poses! I've definitely had my fair share of 'mirror selfie' moments, which are fantastic for showing off your full outfit – like that cool leopard print beret and brown sherpa-lined jacket I loved wearing outdoors. Mirror selfies are also great because you can often see your pose better as you're taking the photo, allowing for quick adjustments. Beyond lighting and angles, confidence is your best accessory. When I'm feeling good, it really shows in my eyes and smile. Don't worry about being 'perfect'; the most beautiful selfies are often the ones where you're genuinely enjoying yourself. I remember taking that Christmas tree selfie, reaching for the star – it wasn't about being perfectly posed, but about capturing the joy of the moment. And for those moments when you want a 'beautiful teen selfie' or something with a bit more allure, focusing on your best features can help. For me, sometimes it's my glasses, other times it's a bold lip. And outfits! A stylish outfit, like a dark dress with that white faux fur coat, instantly elevates the shot. Don't underestimate the power of accessories like large sunglasses to add a touch of mystery or glam. Lastly, don't forget to have fun with it! Selfies are a personal diary, a way to celebrate your style, your day, and who you are. Whether you're aiming for a 'sexy selfie' or just documenting your everyday life, let your personality shine through. What are your go-to selfie tips? I'd love to hear them!
