Slum Lord
I haven’t had my own place since I experienced a slum lord in 2021 , my ceiling fell down twice , yes twice within weeks. I told them the first time with how fast they “repaired” the ceiling that I knew it wasn’t done properly, a few days later on the next time it rained the ceiling fell in again. I went months reaching out to the landlord, the city code enforcement, til the water was cut off (it was two units in the building) once the water was off the city ofc made us leave. My girls were 1 and 2 at the time.. their room was the only place in the apartment that didn’t have issues not to mention the ceiling was just ONE of many problems. I feel as if me and my neighbor were taken advantage of , middle of the pandemic, we were both young single mothers I was 23 she was about 20/21.. I was so heartbroken to loose my place and it wasn’t my fault , it wasn’t due to not paying bills it was due to the owner not caring enough about her tenants or her property. My credit is horrible and I’m on a new journey to fix it. I’m tired of staying with others and not being fully comfortable. I’m going to do better, learn better spending habits, better saving techniques and use my knowledge to get me to a high enough score and clean enough credit profile for a new beginnings before the year is out. I’ll be posting that journey as well. I feel a high shift coming, I know my life is going to look 3x better by the end of the year !
