Testing for Seizures
When Ellie was a baby she’d zone out into space for about 10-30 seconds at a time.. I always felt she was just ignoring us or zoned out til her Dr said babies don’t do that . I was terrified seizures run on both sides of my family 🥺 …. Sooooo, in 2020 we went to Laurie’s children’s hospital in Chicago and got her monitored for seizures, luckily for us I HAVE A PRAYING GRANDMOTHER .. I have a full list of prayer warriors actually and when the results came back there was no sign of them ! I guess baby girl really was just ignoring us , THANK GOD , as my little brother does have seizures, I was very concerned and scared for my baby. Talk to your child’s Dr , mention any and everything, I would much rather take my children to a 1,000 testing facilities , and getting good news back , than not knowing for sure and something happens to be actually wrong. #medical #seizures #infant #girlmom #health #healthy #babygirl #blessed #covered #protected 💗
When an infant displays unusual behaviors, such as zoning out, it can raise immediate concerns for parents. In such instances, understanding the potential causes of these behaviors, including seizures, is crucial. Seizures in babies differ from adult seizures, often manifesting as brief spells of unresponsiveness. Parents should observe any recurring patterns and communicate detailed observations to pediatricians. Testing for seizures typically involves consultations with specialists and may include tests like EEGs, which monitor brain wave activity. These tests can be intimidating but are essential for accurate diagnosis. In addition to monitoring, early intervention can help parents manage fear and anxiety. Engaging a network of support, whether it be family or prayer communities, can provide emotional reassurance during medical evaluations. Educating oneself on seizure symptoms is vital; resources like the Epilepsy Foundation offer comprehensive guides for parents. It's also important to know when to seek immediate medical attention, such as in cases of unusual shaking or loss of consciousness. Ultimately, ensuring regular medical check-ups not only allows for early detection of issues but helps to establish a collaborative relationship with healthcare providers, ensuring your child receives the best care possible.
