When I first planned my trip to Paris, I was overwhelmed! There are so many amazing things to see and do, but I wanted to make sure I hit the absolute must-dos that would truly capture the magic of the city. Beyond the obvious, I found a few experiences that really made my trip special, and I’m excited to share them to help you make the most of yours! 1. Immerse Yourself in Art at the Louvre (Smartly!) Yes, the Louvre is a must-see, but trust me, it can be incredibly overwhelming. My personal tip, and one I can't stress enough, is to reserve tickets at the Louvre ahead of time! I learned this the hard way on a previous trip. This time, I booked for an early morning slot right when they opened, and it made such a difference. Alternatively, the last two booking times can also be less crowded, offering a more serene experience. Don't try to see everything; pick a few key areas or masterpieces like the Mona Lisa and Venus de Milo, and allow yourself to get lost in their beauty without feeling rushed. The sheer scale of the museum is awe-inspiring, and taking your time in specific galleries rather than rushing through all of them is key to truly appreciating its treasures. 2. Capture the Eiffel Tower from a Unique Perspective Of course, you’ll want to see the Eiffel Tower, but finding a unique spot for photos is a game-changer! I absolutely loved taking my pictures at night along Avenue De New York and the Pont De Bir-Hakeim bridge. The way the city lights reflect on the Seine, with the sparkling Eiffel Tower in the background, creates a truly magical scene. It’s a bit less crowded than the Trocadero, allowing for more intimate and stunning shots. I recommend going just after sunset to catch the blue hour, and then waiting for the tower to sparkle on the hour – it’s breathtaking! 3. Indulge in a Classic Parisian Breakfast at Carette Forget your hotel breakfast one morning and head straight to Carette. This charming tea salon became my go-to for an authentic Parisian culinary experience. I still dream about their fresh croissants, rich hot chocolate, and the delectable chocolate crepes. The atmosphere is quintessential Parisian chic, and sitting there, watching the city wake up with a warm pastry and a delightful drink, felt like a scene straight out of a movie. It’s a perfect way to start your day feeling truly immersed in the local culture. 4. Experience the Legendary Steak Frites at Relais de l'Entrecôte For dinner, if you love steak, you simply must try Relais de l'Entrecôte. This place is famous for its simple yet perfect menu: a walnut salad, followed by steak frites with their secret sauce, and then dessert. My big tip, echoing what I heard from locals, is to line up before they begin service. They don't accept reservations, so arriving early is the only way to guarantee a spot without a super long wait. The service is incredibly efficient, and the steak is cooked to perfection. It’s a unique, no-fuss dining experience that every food lover should try at least once in Paris. By focusing on these experiences, I felt like I truly got to taste, see, and feel the best of Paris. I hope these personal recommendations help you create your own unforgettable memories in this incredible city!
