Tết về bên nhau ❤️
Tết, the Vietnamese Lunar New Year, holds a special place in the hearts of Vietnamese people worldwide. It’s a time when families reunite, bridging distances to be "về bên nhau" — to come together. Experiencing Tết away from home, I’ve realized the profound joy that surrounds these moments of closeness and shared celebration. During Tết, the atmosphere is filled with warmth and lively energy. Homes are decorated with traditional flowers like peach blossoms and kumquat trees, symbolizing prosperity and happiness. People clean their houses meticulously, preparing for the new year with fresh hopes. The phrase "Tết sang để ta gần nhau" (Tết comes so we can be close) resonates deeply as it captures the essence of this gathering. Family meals are a highlight, featuring special dishes like bánh chưng (square sticky rice cake) and giò lụa (Vietnamese sausage). Sharing these meals strengthens our bonds and serves as a reminder of our cultural roots. I find that the simple act of smiling and exchanging warm wishes, as hinted by phrases like "Môi cười mạnh khoẻ trong tay" (smiling healthily together), truly uplifts spirits. Beyond food and decorations, Tết is an emotional reconnection. The festival encourages forgiveness, gratitude, and renewed relationships. Personally, the joy of "sum vầy" (family gathering) during this time has taught me to cherish every moment with loved ones. This spirit of togetherness and wellness is what makes Tết not just a festival, but a celebration of life itself, inspiring me to embrace peace and happiness throughout the year.
