🐎 Uma Girl Art Dump 🐎

Hey everyone! I just wanted to share a bit more about the fan art pieces I recently posted. It was such a blast putting this collection together, especially after my visit to Animenj where I found so much inspiration and even some cool merchandise! First up, let's talk about the adorable Chibi Special Week art. Drawing characters in a chibi style is always so much fun because you get to exaggerate features and really lean into the cuteness factor. For Special Week, I focused on her signature bubbly personality and tried to capture that energetic spirit in a smaller, more condensed form. I love how her big, expressive purple eyes and those iconic horse ears stand out. When I’m drawing chibi Uma Musume characters, I always think about how to maintain their unique traits, like her brown hair and white forelock, while simplifying the design. It's a popular style for a reason – who can resist a cute chibi Uma girl? Then there's the crossover magic! I had so much fun reimagining Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash from My Little Pony as Uma Musume characters. It was a creative challenge to blend their distinct personalities and looks with the world of Tracen Academy. For Pinkie Pie, I envisioned her bright pink mane and tail flowing with the uniform, while Rainbow Dash's rainbow-colored hair was a must-keep. Dressing them in the purple and white Tracen Academy uniforms felt like the perfect fit, giving them that competitive yet stylish Uma Musume vibe. It’s always interesting to think about how different franchises could interact! Similarly, bringing Rune Runner from Star Stable Online into the Uma Musume universe was a joy. Adapting her features, like her braided hair and distinctive horse elements, to fit the Tracen Academy uniform was a highlight of this piece. Creating an Uma Musume OC, or Original Character, like my unfinished Tally Up, is a really rewarding process. It starts with an idea – what kind of personality would she have? What would her unique horse traits be? For Tally Up, I gave her distinctive brown hair, striking blue eyes, and, of course, those essential horse ears and a white forelock to tie her into the Uma Musume aesthetic. Designing her uniform, even just the bust portrait, involved thinking about how it would complement her individual look while still clearly being part of the Tracen Academy style. It’s all about making them feel like they belong in that vibrant world. Speaking of Tracen Academy uniforms and Uma Musume features, I often get asked about how I approach drawing them. The Tracen Academy uniform, especially the winter version, has such distinct details – the colors, the cut, and how it drapes. I focused on getting the purple and white elements right. And for those wondering about how to draw Uma Musume ears, my personal tip is to observe real horse ears first for their basic shape and articulation. Then, simplify and stylize them to fit the anime aesthetic, making sure they convey emotion. Think about where they're placed on the head and how they interact with hair and accessories. Adding a subtle twitch or tilt can really bring a character to life! The tails and forelocks are equally important for completing the look. Overall, working on these different art styles and character designs has been an incredibly fun journey. It’s about taking inspiration from beloved characters and giving them a fresh spin within a universe I love.
