End of semester check in

Summer Semester 2025

💭What's on my mind: This semester has been chaotic for me, I am taking the max amount of classes that i am allowed for summer semester at my college, I am also a first time mom, and SAHM. My teachers were really understanding of my situation and allowed me to turn in work on my own time so that was a plus ! I turned in all my assignments and finished the final ones on Monday ! So far I have an A in history 108 and a B in sociology 101. These are not my final grades as my sociology teacher has some grades to put in but i feel like i have another 4.0 semester under my belt 💪🏻🧠.

Current Mood: Relieved because i finished everything, and hopeful for that 4.0 !!

EDIT: final grades haven’t been put in yet, but i was able to raise my sociology grade up to an A before the semester ended, def feeling a 4.0 coming

... Read moreBalancing higher education with motherhood and personal responsibilities requires exceptional time management, resilience, and support. Many students who are first-time moms and stay-at-home parents face unique challenges such as limited study time, childcare demands, and the need for flexibility from instructors. Achieving strong academic results, like maintaining an A in history and a B in sociology, while handling the maximum allowed course load during the summer semester is an impressive feat. Colleges increasingly recognize the needs of parent-students and often provide accommodations such as extended deadlines or online coursework options to support their success. Effective strategies for managing this balance include prioritizing assignments based on deadlines and weight, creating a dedicated study schedule, and seeking out campus or community resources for parents. Online communities and hashtags such as #sahmlife, #nursingstudent, and #collegestudent enable connecting with peers facing similar challenges to share advice and motivation. Maintaining a positive mindset, as reflected in the relief and hopeful anticipation of a 4.0 GPA, is also crucial. Celebrate each milestone, recognize personal growth, and adapt plans as needed to maintain both academic progress and family well-being. This integrated approach supports sustained achievement across multiple demanding roles.
