I don’t know if I’ll ever love a video game the way I loved Stardew Valley, but I’m also so burnt out on it. I don’t want to keep replaying the same first like 100 hours of the game because the game is so extensive. Every similar cozy game that has come out lately feels like a Stardew clone, but just not as good. So many of them even open with similar cutscenes, moving into a farm house with villagers introducing you to your new home. Like where’s the creativity? Some of them are so cut and paste it’s hardly a different game… I want a new cozy game with depth like Stardew so badly, but I also totally understand that Stardew is a HUGE game, and it takes time to make such impactful games.
