My September TBR 🔮🍂
I can’t follow a TBR to save my life, so I’m trying a more open ended option. There are some books that I already have checked out from the library or have holds on Libby for, but I’m going to be reading everything else based on availability and what I’m in the mood for.
Let me know if you have any opinions about these books because I am so indecisive and also easily influenced.
Taking an open-ended approach to your September TBR, as you mentioned, is a great way to keep reading enjoyable and stress-free. Rather than sticking strictly to a pre-planned list, allowing mood and book availability to guide your choices can lead to some wonderfully serendipitous reads. Incorporating physical books like "The Crimson Mother" or "The Rebel Mrs. Miller" can bring a tactile, immersive experience, while exploring popular formats such as those available on Libby allows easy access to library holdings and audiobooks. It's also helpful to engage with reading communities on platforms like BookTok and #septemberreads, where fellow readers share their honest opinions and book suggestions. This can be especially useful if, like you, you tend to be influenced by others' recommendations. Tags like #witch and #romance hint at favorite genres and themes that can help narrow down choices when the indecision kicks in. To maximize enjoyment, keep a flexible reading list that includes a mix of genres and titles—from sorceress tales and love stories to thrilling adventures. Hosting mini-reviews or check-ins with friends or online followers after finishing each book can also add a social element that motivates you to keep reading. Ultimately, this open approach respects your natural reading rhythm and encourages you to savor each story based on your current interests and access, rather than pressure to complete predefined targets.
