The very start of our HOME

We broke ground 2 years ago & are still going 🤪 it can feel so overwhelming and stressful but it will be worth it! We couldn’t find anything to buy in the area we loved that wouldnt of been crazy $ or an entire remodel .. so we decided to build!

I can’t wait to make this house a home.. when it’s all set and done I will break down our costs, our personal do’s & don’ts, maybe some things we wish we did or didn’t do? Furnishing; decorating, our plans for our full basement/downstairs 😏

Since our journey began two years ago, we quickly learned the importance of choosing the right materials, like the durable Tyvek HomeWrap, to protect against the elements. This waterproof barrier system enhances insulation, making our house comfortable and energy-efficient. Community input can be invaluable as well. Sharing experiences with others who are also building can bring insight and encouragement. Whether it’s discussing design layouts, selecting colors, or deciding on landscaping ideas for our large front yard, we welcome all tips and suggestions! Planning for sustainability is also a key aspect to consider in modern home building, encouraging responsible resource use. We can't forget to mention the emotional support from family and friends, who have been by our side, helping with both labor and encouragement. Their contributions reflect the true essence of home—a blend of hard work, love, and shared dreams. As we move closer to completion, we’ll also document the process of furnishing and decorating, ensuring every corner speaks to our personality. Join us as we transform this house in progress into a home filled with life and happiness!
