... Read moreLiving with lupus often brings additional challenges, particularly anxiety. Chronic stress can stem from managing symptoms like joint pain and fatigue. This can heighten anxiety levels, especially with the unpredictability of lupus flares, leading to constant worry about health. Symptoms such as fatigue and brain fog can mimic anxiety, causing restlessness and difficulty concentrating. Medications like corticosteroids, while necessary for treatment, may also induce mood swings, further complicating the situation. Establishing a daily routine can help mitigate these effects of anxiety. Incorporating mindfulness practices, such as meditation or yoga, can provide a calming influence, allowing you to manage stress more effectively. Engaging with support groups, either online or in-person, can create a community where shared experiences provide comfort and understanding. Additionally, working closely with healthcare providers to discuss medication effects and tailoring treatment plans can lead to better mental health outcomes. Remember, acknowledging your concerns and taking proactive steps are vital in managing both lupus and anxiety.

I have Crohn’s disease. And my anxiety is so bad. I take Two pills. But I only take when I’m not going to at home. So my anxiety on a good level. At home I’m good.
