Healing Paws, Feathers & Scales: How Animals Bring Us Comfort 💛🐾
Taking care of animals can do more than we realize—it can bring comfort, routine, and a sense of calm on even the hardest days. Whether it’s a loyal dog, a soft-spoken cat, a colorful bird, or even a unique reptile, every animal has a way of connecting with us and reminding us we’re not alone. 🐾💛
They give us purpose, companionship, and little moments of peace that can help ease anxiety and depression in everyday life.
What type of animal do you have, or which one would you love to have? 🐶🐱🦎🦜

I was raised with parrots and I wouldn’t recommend for first time pet owners. They are hand feed, but not domesticated. Meaning, they are still wild animals. You have to take them to specialized vets, which can be expensive. You have to keep them away from mirrors/windows or they will fly into them and hurt themselves. You need to buy special food and grow lights. It’s recommended to have large cages for them. (I.e. large parrots should be in cat cages). You need to learn how to handle them and handle them often. If you don’t, they will bite you. Also, they throw bird seed EVERYWHERE (they are nature’s gardeners). They poop all the time. They are loud as hell. No Teflon pans because the chemicals they release while heated can kill them. Plus, they are can be quite expensive to purchase and it can be difficult to find reputable breeders. Not saying don’t get one, just keep all of this in mind. As an adult, I finally have a cat and a dog and it’s so much more chill.
