How I study for an exam!
I have two big exams coming up this next week and recently I have really been enjoying studying with my new routine!
If your professor gives you a study guide I go through and highlight what I don’t know and make physical flashcards. I also love using Quizlet and making a study set and adding it to a folder so I test myself on everything!
If there’s something I’m still not understanding from the lectures, I will look it up on YouTube and watch other people explain it. I love CrashCourse, Nurse Cheung and RegisteredNurseRN.
I find it helpful to plan out a weekly study schedule, writing down exactly what chapters I want to work on. The most important thing about studying is to take breaks. Hope this helps y’all❤️🩺

Studying effectively is crucial for success in nursing programs. Here are some advanced strategies that can complement your study routine: 1. **Active Learning Techniques**: Instead of passively reading through textbooks, engage with the material. Consider teaching concepts to a peer or discussing topics in study groups. This not only reinforces your understanding but also exposes you to different perspectives. 2. **Utilization of Digital Tools**: In addition to Quizlet, explore other platforms like Anki for spaced repetition flashcards, which can significantly enhance your memory retention. Tools like Notion or Trello can help you organize your study schedule systematically. 3. **Diversify Study Resources**: While YouTube channels like CrashCourse are excellent, look for podcasts and forums tailored to nursing topics. Participating in online communities can provide support and diverse insights that enhance your understanding of complex subjects. 4. **Mindfulness and Breaks**: Incorporate mindfulness practices into your routine. Techniques such as meditation or simple breathing exercises during breaks can improve focus and reduce study anxiety. 5. **Mock Exams**: Consider taking mock exams or practice tests to familiarize yourself with the format of your exam. This can alleviate stress on test day and help you gauge your preparedness. By implementing these strategies, you can boost your study resilience and academic performance. Good luck!
