YCH thoughts
ych is an awesome concept. an artist draws a basic but beautiful art and people can pay to have their character in it. amazing! and its an original drawing. remember the bluey ych trend? I found it a bit hypocritical when they can draw over a big name show and get paid but it's different when they draw over the ych of the Toothless dancing and be paid. is it bc one is a small artist and the other isn't? as long as the artist isn't claming copyright for the original then it should be fine.
another thing I'm worried about is if an artist likes a ych idea that is traced off a photo or meme but doesn't want to pay someone so they do it themselves. what if they get called out for 'copying'? that would be hypocritical. you can BORROW ideas and its not technically stealing if you traced over it yourself.
