shops that I loved at the Old Mystic Village!!

Olde Mistick Village totally stole my heart! I fell in love with The Cloak & Wand (yes, you can really get your own wand and cloak!), Alice’s Haunted Little Bookshop with its spooky reads and eerie charm, the cozy anime haven Ritsu, and Sticky Situations—a honey shop that’s as sweet as it sounds! Every shop felt like stepping into a new little world. Can’t wait to go back!

... Read moreOkay, so beyond the few specific gems I mentioned, Olde Mistick Village truly is a treasure trove of independent businesses, and that's what makes it so special! When I visited, I was struck by how almost every shop you see is a small, locally-owned venture, which gives the whole village such a unique and charming feel. It’s not just about shopping; it’s about discovering passion projects and meeting friendly faces. If you're wondering about the full scope of what's available, it really goes beyond just books and wands. While I adored The Cloak & Wand for its magical theme and Harry Potter merchandise (you really can get magic trinkets and your own cloak and wand there, it’s amazing!), and Alice's Haunted Little Bookshop for its cute Gothic vibe, there’s so much more to explore. For instance, I also stumbled upon Becca Rose, a beautiful wellness store that caught my eye. They have a fantastic selection of stones and handmade soap, which are perfect for unique gifts or just treating yourself. And right nearby was The Boo's Knoes Mercantile, another spot that just oozes local charm. It's a great example of the diverse range of stores you'll find, from unique home goods to artisanal crafts. Thinking about the "hobby store" search, Ritsu, with its vibrant red building, is definitely a fantastic stop for anime enthusiasts! They've got so much manga, merchandise, and even Japanese snacks and drinks – it's like a little slice of Tokyo right in Connecticut. But you'll also find other hobby-related shops, like places with craft supplies or unique collectibles if you keep an eye out. The village truly caters to so many different interests. Navigating the village is part of the fun, but if you're looking for a specific store or just want to get your bearings, grabbing a 'map of Olde Mistick Village' is super helpful. I saw one near the entrance (the one with 'ALMOST ALL SMALL BUSINESSES' highlighted!) and it really helps you plan your route. There are so many little nooks and crannies, and you don't want to miss anything. It feels like stepping into a storybook, with all the cobblestone paths and water features. And speaking of Sticky Situations, that honey shop is a must-visit! They don't just have honey; I saw an incredible range of honey mustard, dessert butters, syrups, oils, vinegars, and even some wine. It's truly a gourmet experience. Every time I think about my trip, I just want to go back and explore even more. Whether you're looking for something specific or just want to wander and discover, Olde Mistick Village offers such a delightful shopping and retail experience. It’s definitely more than just a destination; it's an adventure for your senses!
