Thrift Store Decor Finds ✨
I have to share these cute finds from my local thrift shop, aka Salvation Army! I saw potential in this ceramic bowl, but wasn’t completely sure until I added some fruit. How cute it look in the kitchen! So glad I got it.
I’ve been searching for a big vase like this, but they were always too expensive. Then I found this one with an ugly print and decided to paint it black—such an easy fix.
These two pieces would’ve cost me so much more new! I’m so happy with my finds.

Hey fellow decor lovers! Since sharing my recent thrift store wins – that adorable white speckled artisanal bowl with its unique wavy rim and the large, round, beige vase I transformed into a sleek matte black beauty – I’ve had so many questions about how I find such amazing pieces. Thrifting for home decor is truly an art, but it's one anyone can master with a few tricks up their sleeve! First off, patience is key. You won't always strike gold on every visit, and that’s perfectly fine. I usually set aside a good hour or two to really browse. Don't just stick to the home goods aisle; sometimes you'll find hidden gems in unexpected places. For instance, small decorative plates might be hiding near the kitchenware, or a unique mirror could be tucked away in the art section. Always keep an open mind! When it comes to spotting potential, think beyond the item's current state. That dark green floral pattern on my vase, for example, wasn't my style at all, but I immediately saw its great shape and knew a coat of matte black paint would completely elevate it. Look for solid construction, unique shapes, and good materials like ceramic, wood, or glass. Minor imperfections are often easy fixes – a chipped paint job can be repainted, tarnished metal can be polished, and even a missing knob can be replaced with something more your taste. My go-to DIY for thrifted decor is definitely paint. A simple spray paint can instantly modernize an outdated piece. From glossy whites to sophisticated blacks, or even a pop of a bold color, paint is your best friend. For larger pieces like furniture, chalk paint is a game-changer as it often requires minimal prep. Imagine turning a scuffed wooden side table into a chic accent piece for your living room! Styling your thrifted finds is the fun part. My white speckled artisanal bowl now looks fantastic on my kitchen counter, holding fresh fruit, proving that even a simple $3 find can make a statement. And the matte black vase, filled with elegant pampas grass, completely transformed my console table. Mix your thrifted treasures with newer items to create a curated, layered look that feels uniquely 'you.' Don't be afraid to experiment with different arrangements until it feels just right. Beyond the aesthetic and financial benefits, thrifting is also a fantastic way to be more sustainable. Giving pre-loved items a new life reduces waste and adds character to your home that mass-produced items just can't replicate. Each piece has a story, and you get to be part of its next chapter. So, next time you're looking to refresh your space, definitely give your local thrift store a visit. You might just find your next favorite home decor piece!
