How I Propagate Like a Pro 😎🪴

Propagating plants is one of my favorite ways to start a new one. It’s easy to maintain and grow more from a plant you already have.

The key to successful propagation is cutting in the right spot where roots or leaves can grow, changing the water regularly and planting at the right time.

Propagating green onions and Monstera Adansonii has always been a success for me and even pineapple!

My failures? Rosemary and thyme. What about you? 🥹

Understanding how plant propagation works can lead to greater success in rooting and growing new plants from cuttings. For beginners, starting with easy-to-root plants such as green onions is perfect. They can be placed in a glass of water, and within a few days, you'll see new white roots forming. It's important to ensure that the cut ends are submerged, as this promotes healthy growth. Another excellent choice is the Monstera Adansonii, known for its stunning split leaves. To propagate this plant, take a cutting just below a node, which is where the roots develop, and place it in water or soil. Ensure it gets direct sunlight, and after a few weeks, you’ll notice roots starting to form. While green onions and Monstera can be rewarding, don’t be discouraged by failures with more challenging herbs like rosemary and thyme. These plants can be trickier to propagate successfully due to their particular watering and light requirements. Researching specific care information for the type of plant you want to propagate is crucial. Remember to change the water regularly to prevent stagnation and encourage healthy root growth, ensuring your new plants thrive well. With practice and patience, you can enjoy the successes of plant propagation and share your journey with fellow plant lovers!
