Have yall read these before?
Hey fellow bookworms! 👋 It's always such a joy to share what's currently gracing my nightstand (or my earbuds!). Diving into new stories and learning from fresh perspectives is one of my favorite things, and this current selection has been an absolute ride. First up, let's talk about Sarah Pinborough's *Behind Her Eyes*. Oh my goodness, if you haven't picked this up, prepare for a wild psychological thriller! I'm about 76% through, and honestly, the characters are just... something else. Every time I think I have it figured out, something new pops up that makes me question everything. It's the kind of book where you're constantly second-guessing motives and trying to untangle the web of secrets. The cover itself, with its eerie vibe, perfectly sets the tone for the twisty journey inside. If you love a story that keeps you guessing until the very last page, and characters that live rent-free in your head, this one's for you. Then there's Rebecca Roanhorse's *Black Sun*. Wow. I'm only 12% in, but I was hooked from chapter one! This fantasy world is unlike anything I've encountered recently. The intricate world-building, the unique cultures, and the compelling characters feel so fresh and original. It truly pulls you into a fantastical realm, and I can already tell it's going to be an epic adventure. If you're searching for a fresh fantasy series with rich lore and a captivating narrative, definitely give Black Sun a try. The way Roanhorse crafts her settings and introduces you to new perspectives is just brilliant. I'm also dipping my toes into Alexis Schaitkin's *Elsewhere*. It's only 5% in, but it's already proving to be incredibly different and peculiar. Without giving too much away, there's a certain detail about eating dirt that definitely caught my attention! It’s one of those books that makes you feel a little unsettled but totally intrigued by where the story is going. If you enjoy literary fiction with a unique premise that challenges your perceptions, this might be a fascinating read for you too. Beyond physical books, audiobooks have become a huge part of my reading life. I'm almost finished with The Let Them Theory by Mel Robbins and Sawyer Robbins (98% done!) and I absolutely adore it. Mel Robbins has such an empowering and direct way of communicating, and this audiobook has been a fantastic listen for personal growth. It's packed with practical advice that really resonates. And for a classic escape, I've been enjoying The Fellowship of the Ring by J.R.R. Tolkien via audiobook. The narrator does an incredible job with distinct character voices, really bringing Middle-earth to life. It's a fun way to revisit a beloved story or experience it for the first time if you're new to the world of hobbits and wizards. I find audiobooks perfect for commutes or when I'm doing chores! What I love about having such a diverse reading list is getting to jump between different genres and experiences. From the intense suspense of a psychological thriller to the expansive horizons of high fantasy and the insightful wisdom of self-help, each book offers something unique. It keeps my reading journey exciting and ensures there's always something to match my mood. So, tell me, what incredible books are you currently lost in? Have you read any of these? I'd love to hear your thoughts and recommendations! Happy reading, everyone! 📖✨
