Korea Trip every year?
Why I love travelling to Korea so much
Every year, when people ask me about my travel plans, my answer will be Korea.
Why Korea though? The world is so big and you choose to go back to the same country… wont it be boring? Haven’t you finished exploring the country??
Totally not boring and Korea is HUGE!
Maybe 2 years ago during my Jeju trip, I once had a thought of taking a break from Korea.. but my mind changed :D Many reasons…
1. Social media - I get jealous when I see people travel to Korea and enjoy all the yummy food, shopping and pretty views. This is kinda a bad thing as it is like envying people? I cant remember the phrase but I guess its like a societal pressure kind of thing haha
2. The food there. I absolutely loveeee the hangover/potato soup in Korea T-T and the ones in Singapore are soooo expensive and doesn’t hit the spot for me.. so its a major reason HAHAHAH
3. Olive young - bad thing again… makes me overspend and buy things that I may not even need :(
4. I have yet to explore the whole of Korea - I think it’s impossible tbh…. Maybe even after I go there once a year for 30 years.. maybe I can? LOL.
5. I love the weather there… maybe when it is cooler than SG? It is like a temporary escape to a colder climate :D (but other countries also have this..)
6. I can read korean so I guess I can survive better there???
Omg my reasons do sound kinda lame.. but NGL, when I touch down in Korea, I get so happy? (The flight there not so though… 6 hours of waiting HAHAHHA)
My ideal vacation in Korea is to explore the outskirts or further cities that are not so filled with foreigners yet? Probably more of experiencing the nature, cultural aspect of the country as Seoul is very city like and similar to SG, but more exciting in terms of shopping!!
We shall see.. that will be next year’s plans since this year’s Korea trip has already been fulfilled hehe!
Let me know your thoughts on this! <3
Traveling to Korea every year might seem repetitive to some, but from personal experience, it’s like uncovering a new chapter each time. Korea’s vastness and diversity mean there’s always a fresh adventure waiting—whether it’s wandering through historic temples during cherry blossom season or indulging in comforting bowls of hangover or potato soup that simply can’t be matched elsewhere. One of my favorite aspects of Korea is the range of shopping experiences—from bustling city streets lined with fashion boutiques to hidden gem shops like Olive Young, where discovering new skincare and beauty products never gets old. It's easy to overspend here, but it’s part of the fun and discovery. What I appreciate most is exploring beyond Seoul, venturing into cities less touched by tourism, where nature and cultural heritage create serene escapes. Places such as Jeju Island offer breathtaking natural beauty and tranquility far from crowded city spots. And as someone who can read Korean, navigating local markets and reading menus enhances the travel experience, making it more immersive and authentic. Another highlight is Korea’s weather, providing a refreshing break from the tropical heat of places like Singapore. The cooler temperatures offer comfort and a chance to enjoy outdoor activities that might be less pleasant back home. Finally, the social media buzz around Korea often adds a playful layer of motivation to visit again—seeing friends and influencers enjoy Korea’s attractions keeps the excitement alive. It’s not envy but inspiration to explore and experience more. In summary, Korea’s blend of food, culture, nature, shopping, and seasons makes it a destination that invites repeated visits, each trip offering new memories and explorations.
