Momma bear 🎀
To my dearest momma bear,
Hey pretty lady I miss you so so much. We’re getting close to that one year mark of you being gone but for some reason it feels like it was just yesterday… well that’s a lie sometimes it feels like it’s been years and I’m able to tell stories about you without my eyes watering, but the next moment a grandma will be walking into the store with her grandchild hand in hand and my throat has this weird sensation like someone took my air way and tied it in a knot. It’s hard to breathe and it’s like I just received the news all over again. I miss the I love you more fights and you getting mad at me for not calling you back fast enough. Dad still lives in the house but it’s so hard visiting him knowing you passed away there. I am grateful that you didn’t pass in a hospital I know that was always your biggest fear. I often find myself thinking about your funeral, when we put you in the ground it was a sad rainy day. We got to the cemetery and it felt so unreal it hadn’t rained in so long we all stood there with yellow, white, and pink roses. Everyone was trying to get under the tent to avoid the rain but I didn’t mind it. It reminded me of all the times we played in the rain together it was like the last way you could have comforted me in that moment. Josh and I went over to dads after the funeral and I made a comment about how sad the world seemed that day. Aunt Dina was the only one that seemed to understand what I was saying the rest just kinda looked at me like I was crazy. I pray that you stay with me and are waiting for me when my time comes.
Xoxo
