Happy Pi Day

After spending some time doing some batch cooking, and getting a lasagna soup going for dinner for tonight and lunch for tomorrow, I figured one of the hottest days this year so far let's go ahead and do the self-cleaning part of the oven. 🤣

I'm hiding in the bedroom where I'm trying to find something to watch, letting the cool cool air blow over me as I avoid that kitchen for the next 3.5 hours.

Oh, happy Pi Day! Yes I do have a Pi Day design, but I'm going to be retiring it along with a couple of other designs so I'm not really promoting it right now. More coming soon about the designs I am going to be retiring. And probably retiring them the way rock bands retire.

So what are you doing for Pi Day? Anything?

... Read morePi Day is a great opportunity to combine fun and productivity in the kitchen. While many people celebrate with pies or math-related activities, I find that it’s also a perfect day for batch cooking and tackling those home chores you’ve been putting off. Recently, on a particularly hot day, I decided to prepare a lasagna soup that could serve both dinner and the next day’s lunch. This type of cooking is not only time-efficient but allows you to enjoy delicious homemade meals without daily stress. With the oven working hard for the cooking process, it’s an ideal moment to start the self-cleaning cycle—especially if you’re planning to be away from the kitchen for a while. Since the cycle can last several hours and generate heat, I took refuge in the bedroom with some refreshing air and a good show to keep me entertained. This method helped me avoid the heat, yet stay productive at home. Pi Day also serves as a fun occasion to reflect on creativity. I have some Pi Day-themed designs that I've loved, but just like musicians retire classic hits, I’m retiring some of my own creations to make room for fresh ideas. This blend of tradition and innovation keeps both personal projects and celebrations exciting. For those wondering how to celebrate Pi Day, you don’t have to stick with the usual pie baking or math quizzes. Consider merging practical kitchen tasks with your celebration. Preparing meals in batches saves time and reduces waste, while tasks like oven cleaning improve your cooking environment. Staying cool by retreating from the heat and indulging in some entertainment can make the day relaxing and enjoyable. Overall, Pi Day can be a mix of meaningful productivity and fun. Whether you are a foodie, a creative mind, or just looking for new ways to celebrate, combining batch cooking and oven maintenance could be surprisingly satisfying. What’s your Pi Day tradition? Maybe this year, try something new to balance fun and functionality in your day!
