Psalm 18:36 KJV

2025/7/19 Edited to

... Read moreHey everyone! I wanted to share something that has truly uplifted my spirit lately, especially when I feel uncertain about the path ahead. It’s Psalm 18:36 in the King James Version, which says, 'Thou hast enlarged my steps under me, That my feet did not slip.' When I first read this, it painted such a vivid picture for me. It’s about God not just guiding us, but actually widening our path and making our footing secure. It means that even when life feels like walking on a narrow, slippery edge, God is there, literally expanding the ground beneath us so we can move forward with confidence. For me, 'enlarged my steps' isn't just about physical movement; it's about freedom and confidence in my life choices and spiritual journey. It means God gives me the space and capability to grow, to take on new challenges, and to step out in faith without fear of falling. And the part 'That my feet did not slip' is such a comforting promise. It reminds me that in moments of doubt, weakness, or temptation, His grace is sufficient to keep me steady. We all face unexpected turns and obstacles, but this verse is a beautiful anchor, reminding us that God is actively working to ensure our stability. This verse also makes me think of other powerful passages, like Psalm 34:18 KJV, which says, 'The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.' This is so profound because it shows that God isn't just about making our steps secure when we're strong; He's incredibly close when we're at our weakest, when our heart feels broken. It's a wonderful complement to Psalm 18:36, showing His holistic care – both in giving us strength to move forward and in comforting us when we stumble or hurt. Knowing that 'God is close to the brokenhearted' provides immense comfort, assuring us that even in our deepest sorrows, we are not alone. And then there's Psalm 18:32 KJV: 'It is God that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way perfect.' This beautifully reinforces the idea that all our strength comes from Him, and He perfects our path. I've personally found that meditating on these verses helps me surrender my anxieties and trust in His divine provision. It's not about never facing difficulties, but about knowing that God is always with us, strengthening us and ensuring our ultimate safety. So, next time you feel your steps faltering or your heart heavy, remember Psalm 18:36 and the assurance it brings. Lean into His strength, and trust that He will enlarge your steps and keep your feet from slipping. You've got this, because He's got you!
