I love phoenix on ascent 😝🔥
Hey Valorant fam! Lately, I’ve been seeing a lot of chatter around something called the 'oneaz cu exploit,' especially when it comes to playing Phoenix on Ascent. It got me thinking: what exactly constitutes an 'exploit' in Valorant, and are some of the dominant Phoenix plays on Ascent really just next-level strategy mistaken for something unfair? As a Phoenix main, I wanted to dive into this and share my personal take. Ascent is one of Phoenix’s strongest maps, no doubt. His kit, featuring Curveball, Hot Hands, Blaze, and his ultimate Run It Back, feels tailor-made for its tight corridors, defensible sites, and numerous angles. When you see a Phoenix player just dominating, getting picks, and even pulling off an ACE, it’s often due to masterful utility usage rather than any illicit 'exploit.' Let's talk about what might look like an exploit. One common tactic is the aggressive, unexpected Curveball flash. On Ascent, there are so many corners – like pushing B Main onto site, or peeking mid from A Link – where a perfectly timed flash can blind multiple enemies for an easy pick. It might feel unfair if you're on the receiving end, but it’s simply smart utility. Another example is using Blaze, Phoenix’s fire wall, for sneaky one-ways or to block crucial sightlines. Picture this: pushing A site, placing a Blaze across the main entrance to cut off defenders, then having your team push through. If it's a tight squeeze that you can peek through while enemies can't see you, some might cry foul, but it's a known, legitimate tactic if executed correctly. Then there’s his ultimate, Run It Back. This is where Phoenix truly shines on Ascent for high-impact plays, sometimes even leading to an amazing ACE! I love popping my X ULT READY and pushing aggressively into a site, knowing I have a second chance. On Ascent, you can position your ult clone behind cover on A or B site, make a bold entry, grab a kill or two, and then safely return. It’s an incredibly powerful ability, and mastering its placement and timing can feel like an 'exploit' to opponents who aren't prepared. Constantly having your SIGNATURE ABILITY CHARGED allows for these aggressive plays, creating immense pressure on the enemy team. True exploits are usually game-breaking bugs that give an unfair advantage, like walking through walls or infinite abilities – things Riot Games actively patches out. What we often see attributed to 'exploits' with agents like Phoenix are highly refined strategies, deep map knowledge, and excellent execution. It's about knowing exactly when and where to throw that Curveball, how to angle your Blaze, or finding the perfect safe spot for your Run It Back. My personal tip for dominating Ascent with Phoenix? Practice your flashes! Learn the specific angles for a quick entry flash on A and B sites. Use your Hot Hands not just for damage, but for quick self-heals after a duel or to deny a plant/defuse. And always, always be thinking about where your ultimate can be most impactful. Don't be afraid to take calculated risks when your ult is ready – that's how you turn rounds and sometimes even clutch an ACE. So, next time you hear about a Phoenix 'exploit' on Ascent, remember it might just be a player who has truly mastered the agent and the map. Keep practicing, keep learning, and you'll be pulling off those seemingly 'exploitative' plays yourself in no time – all within the spirit of fair play!
