is it werid I went to the movies alone?
I really wanted to watch Eternity in theaters. Our babysitter canceled at the last minute. I changed the plan to a movie date with my huband, to a 9pm showing all by myself. I really enjoyed my alone time. I got to watcha movie in peace after a long time.
My husband was not angry. He supported me going to the movies. He is not a big fan of rom-com.
I feel the mom guilty for going without him.
Going to the movies alone is becoming more common and widely accepted as a way to enjoy some personal time. When your babysitter cancels at the last minute, and your partner isn’t interested in the movie genre you want to watch—like a rom-com—going solo can be the perfect solution. This gives you a chance to unwind, experience the film fully without distractions, and appreciate some well-deserved 'me time.' It’s natural to feel some guilt as a parent about leaving your partner or family behind for a solo outing, but it’s also important to acknowledge the value of self-care and personal enjoyment. Your husband’s support shows that healthy relationships can encourage individual pursuits without resentment. Taking time for yourself helps reduce stress and refocus your energy, making parenting and partner life easier when you return. Many people worry that solo movie trips might seem “weird,” but in truth, it’s a practical and refreshing choice. The theater atmosphere, complete with its immersive sound and visual experience, is an ideal setting to enjoy a favorite movie or discover new ones without compromise. If you’re considering trying a solo movie night, here are a few tips: 1. Choose a movie you’re genuinely excited about. 2. Pick a showtime that fits your schedule comfortably. 3. Bring your favorite snacks or treats. 4. Use this time to disconnect from daily responsibilities and recharge. In summary, going to the movies alone is not only acceptable but can be a fulfilling way to enjoy entertainment and personal space. Embracing these moments fosters emotional well-being, allowing you to return to your family refreshed and happy.
