how to conceal any unwanted pigmentations?💢❌

Hey Zesties!🍋

Are you someone who has been trying all sorts of products & techniques to conceal your unwanted pigmentations such as freckles, moles, acne, scars, etc… yet you cant seem to do it properly or your base is already as thick as a sandwich after you managed to do so? Keep on reading❗️

First & foremost, you need to understand the colour wheel. Even-ing out the skin tone is all about colour correcting. To colour correct something, you’ll have to know where your pigmentation stands in the colour wheel, and use an opposite shade to counter it. 🎨

I find that using a shade darker than my skin tone, with a hint of a salmon shade works best most of the time. As you can see from the video, i mixed shade NC30 & shade NW25 from the colour correcting palette from MAC Cosmetics this time round. (everyone is different. so you can play around & see what works best for your skin tone) 👍🏻

What’s important is you’ll have to use a tiny brush like the one I used, to spot conceal all the spots. If you were to go in directly, you risk putting on too much product on the rest of your face, resulting in a very heavy makeup. Rule of thumb when it comes to makeup: always start with the bare minimum, and work your way up. If you start off strong, it’s gonna be too late to amend it.☝🏻

The most crucial step:

Set👏🏻 your👏🏻spot👏🏻concealed👏🏻areas👏🏻

You can do so by loading up your brush with loose or setting powder, and gently DAP the powder on it. DO NOT (I REPEAT, DO NOT) use any gliding motion. You will risk “moving” the carefully applies concealer. ❌

💡Pro tip: After applying all your liquid products, set your face with powder to ensure a smooth, non-tacky surface before using your dry products.

Think of it like this: if you sprinkle flour on a plate that's half dry and half wet, the flour on the wet side clumps up and becomes uneven, while the flour on the dry side remains smooth and fluffy. It’s the same concept as applying a blusher onto a tacky base, it’s inevitable for your powder blush to “stick” onto the tacky base, which makes it hard for you to blend, resulting in an uneven and blotchy finish. 🤐

Give these techniques a try and let me know if they work for you! Comment below if you have any questions! 💗

For example, incorporating a hydrating base like Embryolisse Cream, mentioned in beauty circles, can soothe irritated skin and create a smooth canvas that prevents your concealer from caking or patching. I also recommend experimenting with different color correctors tailored specifically to your unique pigmentation. For dark spots or acne marks, peachy and salmon tones tend to neutralize bluish or grayish undertones. When applying, always use a small, precise brush rather than finger application to avoid overloading the area—this tip helped me reduce that heavy, mask-like finish. Another trick I found useful is the setting process. Instead of sweeping powder across your skin, gently dap loose or setting powder over the concealed spots, locking in coverage without disturbing the makeup beneath. Think of it like dusting flour on half-dry batter; blending powder on a tacky base can cause uneven texture and blotchiness. Lastly, hydration is key. Using products with hyaluronic acid before makeup keeps your skin plump and prevents dryness, which can emphasize pigmentation and scars. Remember, the goal is to enhance your natural skin, not cover it completely with thick layers. Give these personalized steps a shot, and you'll notice a smoother, more natural-looking finish that lasts all day.
