I like Petra Viola much more than the original Petra which was a little too boozy for me and I have to layer it to sweeten it up some. In contrast, Petra Viola is a sweet, airy furity floral 🌸 I have not done a wear test yet but shes cute. Feminine leaning and to my nose, the cotton candy note is the star 🌟 Do not get this if you're expecting Mojave Ghost, bc it smells nothing like it and again, is a sugary sweet flirty easy reach perfume.

... Read moreOkay, so I promised an update after a proper wear test with my new Lattafa Petra Viola, and here it is! After spending a few days really getting to know this fragrance, I can confidently say it's more than just a pretty face.
First off, let's talk about those notes, as listed in the image capturing the fragrance notes. The initial spray gives you that vibrant burst of *Raspberry*, beautifully intertwined with a soft, powdery Violet and a subtle hint of Pink Pepper that adds just a touch of sparkle without being too spicy. It’s immediately inviting and bright – definitely a mood booster!
As it settles, the heart of the fragrance truly shines, and oh my goodness, the Cotton Candy note is absolutely divine. It’s not a sticky, overly cloying sweetness; it’s airy, delicate, and truly takes center stage, exactly as I hoped! This sweetness is gracefully balanced by the fresh, green nuances of Lily of the Valley and the intoxicating bloom of *Jasmine*. This combination creates that 'airy fruity floral' vibe I mentioned, making it feel whimsical and effortlessly feminine. It reminds me of a perfectly blended dessert that isn't too heavy.
Moving into the base, the fragrance gently settles into a comforting blend of *Musk*, warm *Sandalwood*, and a touch of *Cedarwood*. These base notes provide a subtle depth and anchor the sweeter, floral elements, ensuring the perfume has a sophisticated dry-down that lingers beautifully on the skin.
Now for the wear test! I found Petra Viola to have surprisingly good longevity on my skin, easily lasting 6-7 hours. It projects moderately for the first couple of hours, creating a lovely scent bubble around me, then settles into a more intimate skin scent. It's perfect for everyday wear, brunch with friends, or even a casual date night where you want to smell sweet and approachable without being overpowering. It's definitely an 'easy reach' for those days when you just want to feel cute and put-together.
If you're like me and found the original Petra a tad too 'boozy' or heavy, Petra Viola is a fantastic alternative. While the original might need layering to sweeten it up, this one comes perfectly pre-sweetened! And for those who might be looking for something similar to Byredo's Mojave Ghost – please note, as I said before, this is not that. Mojave Ghost has a distinctly different, more woody and slightly ethereal profile. Petra Viola is all about that joyful, sugary-sweet, flirty floral experience.
I've also played around with layering Petra Viola. While it's beautiful on its own, I've found it pairs wonderfully with a simple vanilla body lotion to enhance its sweetness, or even a light musk oil if you want to ground it a bit more. It's versatile enough to be a standalone signature scent or a playful base for other light florals.
Overall, Lattafa Petra Viola has quickly become a favorite in my collection. It's a gorgeous, well-blended fragrance that truly delivers on its promise of a sweet, airy, and feminine experience. If you’re into gourmand-leaning florals with a charming cotton candy twist, you absolutely have to give this one a sniff! It’s a true beauty find.
