A few months ago I went to a Cuban restaurant that a friend recommended to me, the restaurant is called El Sapo. The service is excellent, the atmosphere is amazing and the decor is based on my country Cuba, so I felt right at home. They have a traditional menu with typical Cuban, Latin dishes and a combination of both. I really liked the "Pa' chuparse los dedos" snacks, which serve up to 3 people and include Cuban croquettes (very tasty), empanadas, fried yuca, roast pork and Cuban saw. My favorite dessert is the flan de leche and it is honestly the best one I have tried so far and they also make a delicious mojito that you must try.

It's incredibly creamy, perfectly sweet, and that rich caramel sauce with a fresh mint sprig on top? Pure perfection. It’s hands down the best flan I’ve ever tasted. Their mojito is expertly crafted – a perfect balance of fresh mint leaves, lime, and rum, served in a tall glass with plenty of ice. It's the ideal way to cool down and truly embrace the Cuban spirit. The whole atmosphere, from the friendly service to the beautiful 'El Sapo' logo at the reception desk, makes you feel like you've stepped into a cherished family home. It’s truly a standout Cuban restaurant in Silver Spring, MD, and if you're searching for an authentic, memorable dining experience, El Sapo should definitely be at the top of your list!
