I thought it was chic, slimming, and just made life easier. But then, through my journey into feng shui and understanding energy, I started to notice something unsettling. The idea that black clothes could be absorbing and trapping negative energy really resonated with me, especially when I realized I often felt a bit drained or low after a particularly long day dressed head-to-toe in black. It's not just a superstition; in feng shui, black is seen as a powerful absorber. While it can offer protection by deflecting unwanted energies, wearing it constantly, especially close to your body, means you're constantly soaking up surrounding negativity. My mentor explained it as a sponge – if you never rinse it out, it just gets heavier and dirtier. This constant absorption can actually block the flow of positive energy to you, essentially putting a subtle damper on your overall luck. Have you ever noticed feeling persistently irritable, anxious or even depressed without a clear reason? I certainly did. When I wore black almost every day, I often found myself feeling a subtle sadness that I couldn't shake, and it definitely started to affect my true feelings and outlook. So, what can we do instead? It doesn't mean banishing black from your wardrobe entirely, but rather finding balance and intention in your color choices. I started experimenting with incorporating more vibrant and uplifting colors. For instance, wearing green instantly makes me feel more grounded and connected to nature, promoting growth and renewal. Blue brings a sense of calm and clarity, perfect for days when I need to focus. Even a touch of red can ignite passion and confidence, but use it sparingly as it's very potent! Think about the energy you want to invite into your day. If you're going into an important meeting, perhaps a power color like deep blue or even a pop of yellow for optimism. If you're looking for comfort and nurturing, soft browns or creams can be wonderful. I've also learned the importance of cleansing my clothes, especially items that I wear frequently. A simple practice like airing them out in the sun or even a quick wash with intention can help release any stagnant energy they might have picked up. It's about being mindful. Now, when I choose an outfit, I consider not just how it looks, but how it makes me feel and what energy it might be attracting or radiating. It's been a game-changer for my mood and overall well-being. Try it yourself – you might be surprised by the subtle but powerful shift in your daily energy and outlook!
