From my own experience and conversations within the LGBTQ+ community, especially among ftm (female-to-male) trans guys, it’s important to highlight that sexual roles and preferences are highly individual and don’t conform to stereotypes. The phrase "That means you're a bottom right?" often assumes a fixed role based on identity alone, which can be frustrating and limiting. In reality, the dynamics of intimacy and relationships vary widely among ftm individuals. Many embrace versatile roles or identify differently than the common assumptions suggest. Embracing this diversity allows for healthier relationship dynamics and better self-expression. Engaging openly with partners about preferences rather than relying on presumptions can lead to more fulfilling and respectful connections. For those exploring their identities, knowing that sexuality and sexual roles aren’t predetermined by gender identity helps reduce pressure and supports authentic experiences. This openness also resonates in broader alternative and emo communities where identity expression is fluid, and acceptance of differing preferences is key.
