I’m finally a Fourth Wing girly!
Finally decided to give Fourth wing a try! I definitely didn’t expect to like it as much as I did! #books #booktok #bookwormsoflemon8
Okay, so I finally jumped on the Fourth Wing bandwagon, and seriously, what was I waiting for?! I'd seen it everywhere, especially on BookTok, and for good reason! Rebecca Yarros has crafted something truly special here, and I'm officially obsessed. One of the things that completely blew me away was experiencing The Empyrean - Book One through the GraphicAudio version. If you haven't tried it for *Fourth Wing*, you absolutely must! It's not just an audiobook; it's a full-blown cinematic experience. The FULL CAST, the incredible CINEMATIC MUSIC, and the immersive SOUND EFFECTS make you feel like you're right there in Basgiath War College. I mean, when they say "FLY...OR DIE," you feel the stakes. Hearing the dragons roar, the clashing of swords, even the subtle sounds of the wind – it just elevates the entire story, bringing the "graphic" elements of the world vividly to life in a way I didn't expect. It truly adds another layer to visualizing the intense action and emotional moments. Speaking of immersion, let's talk about the POV. The story is told from Violet Sorrengail's perspective, and it's absolutely brilliant. You get to experience all her fears, her determination, and her incredible growth firsthand. As someone initially deemed too fragile for the Riders Quadrant, her internal monologue and struggles make her so relatable. I found myself rooting for her every single step of the way, feeling every physical and emotional challenge as if it were my own. It really makes you appreciate her journey from a Scribe-in-training to a formidable rider. The way Rebecca Yarros lets us live inside Violet's head is a huge part of what makes this book so captivating. You understand her motivations, her doubts, and her fierce loyalty. And oh, the imagery! Especially the infamous Parapet. Even without official parapet art, the descriptions are so vivid, it's like my mind creates its own illustrations. The tension, the height, the sheer terror and exhilaration of that scene—it's etched in my memory. The GraphicAudio version further enhances this, painting a picture with sound that makes you almost feel the wind whipping around you as cadets try to cross. It’s no wonder people are constantly sharing their interpretations and fan art of such iconic moments. I've been browsing online for different artistic takes on the parapet because the visual it sparks in your imagination is just so powerful. It's a testament to Yarros's writing that these scenes are so impactful and memorable, inspiring so much creativity in the fandom. Seriously, if you're looking for a fantasy series that will grip you from the first page and won't let go, Fourth Wing is it. Whether you read it or experience the amazing GraphicAudio, get ready for an epic ride into The Empyrean!
