I placed an order for Wave Child from Room 1015’s site and it arrived with a free sample of Love-O-Matic.I already knew I loved Wave Child—I have a decant and the BSB oil version. It’s sweet, fruity, and has this candy-like watermelon smell. The citrus notes peek through just enough and blend beautifully.

Love-O-Matic smells like clean laundry with a soft fruity touch. On my skin, the clean smell is stronger than the fruit. The bubblegum is very subtle so you would need to layer to get that note to pop. It's for sure a nice scent for the heat or anytime you want that clean feeling. This would have been a safe blind buy for me.

... Read moreOkay, so I've been living with Wave Child and Love-O-Matic by Room 1015 a bit longer now, and I wanted to share some more in-depth thoughts beyond just the initial sniff test! You know how sometimes a fragrance just takes you on a journey? These two definitely do. Let's talk about Wave Child first. While I initially focused on the sweet, candy-like watermelon and bright citrus burst, I've noticed how beautifully those middle notes of Coconut emerge, softening the fruitiness without making it overly tropical. Then, as it dries down, the Ambergris, Amberwood, and Cacao create this surprisingly warm, slightly gourmand base that lingers. It’s not just a summer scent; it has enough depth for cooler evenings or when you just want to feel wrapped in something comforting and unique. On my skin, it lasts a good 6-8 hours, projecting moderately in the first few hours before settling into a lovely skin scent. It makes me feel playful yet sophisticated – perfect for a casual brunch or an evening out with friends. Now, onto Love-O-Matic. Oh, this one is such a chameleon! My first impression of "clean laundry with a soft fruity touch" holds true, but there's so much more to it. The initial burst of Strawberry and Blackcurrant is juicy but not overly sweet, quickly blending into those fresh Ozonic notes. The imagery's description mentioned a "clean accord," and that's absolutely spot on – it truly gives that freshly washed linen vibe. What's fascinating is how the "bubblegum accord" peeks through. It's not a childish, sickly sweet bubblegum; it's a very refined, almost powdery interpretation that adds a whimsical touch. As it dries, the Musk, Ambrette (the OCR specified "ambrette butter," which sounds so luxurious!), and Cedar provide a warm, slightly woody, and incredibly comforting base. This scent has incredible versatility. It's airy enough for the hottest days when you want to feel crisp, but the dry down has a cozy warmth that makes it suitable for any season. I find it lasts about 5-7 hours on me, making it a fantastic "everyday" fragrance or perfect for office wear because it's so inoffensive yet captivating. And since many of you asked about the packaging (I saw the queries about "perfume bottle" and "packaging"!), let me tell you, Room 1015 doesn't disappoint. The Wave Child bottle is sleek and minimalist, fitting perfectly in hand, with a solid, high-quality feel. Its vibrant, almost psychedelic-inspired box art is a true reflection of the scent's playful energy. For Love-O-Matic, even the sample box I received was elegantly designed, hinting at the clean and sophisticated fragrance within. The full-size bottles for Room 1015 generally feature a striking, almost rock-n-roll aesthetic that really stands out on a vanity. It's clear they put as much thought into the visual experience as they do into the olfactory one. If you're looking for unique, high-quality fragrances that tell a story, Room 1015 is definitely a brand to explore. Both Wave Child and Love-O-Matic offer such distinct personalities, and I'm really glad I got to experience them!
