In my own experience with spiritual growth, I’ve found that often the biggest divine lessons come during moments when we feel overlooked or inadequate. Like many believers, I used to pray fervently for life to change dramatically, hoping for quick answers and clear signs. But what I discovered was that God’s work is often quiet and unseen, gradually shaping us through patience, small acts of faith, and trust in His perfect timing. The phrases from the OCR — such as “I thought I missed my purpose” and “Nobody sees what I’m doing,” paired with God’s reassuring responses — deeply resonate with many who struggle with doubt and discouragement. It’s a powerful reminder that even when progress isn’t visible or life feels unimpressive, God is preparing us for something greater. Just like Moses, who doubted but was used mightily, we are called to walk faithfully step by step. One practical way I embraced this teaching was by committing to daily habits like reading scripture and being present in my community, even when I didn’t see immediate results. It turns out these ordinary disciplines are how the kingdom grows — through faithful, consistent obedience. And often, our efforts touch lives in ways we don’t immediately recognize. So, if you find yourself asking God to change your circumstances, try instead asking Him to change you—to help you become the person capable of living out His purpose fully. The journey may involve trials, feelings of being forgotten, or unseen service, but it ultimately leads to transformation. Embracing this process has brought me peace and confidence in God’s promises, knowing He sees every act of faithfulness and is faithfully at work within us all.
