And don’t be surprised if, somewhere in the process of following God, you start discovering parts of yourself you never even knew were there. Sometimes fear, shame, insecurity, or the need to prove yourself can bury parts of who God created you to be. I genuinely feel like there have been so many parts of me that I’ve been uncovering that’s been there all along. I don’t think God suddenly creates those abilities out of thin air. I think He simply created the space for them to grow. And maybe that’s true for you too.

There may be parts of the person God created you to be that you haven’t met yet. Because they’ve never had the opportunity to grow.

Whether you’re 18 or 80 years old, I don’t think God is finished revealing who He’s created you to become.

From my personal experience, I found that following God wasn’t about changing me into someone different but unveiling strengths and gifts that had been quietly present all along. Fear and self-doubt can mask these parts of ourselves, but through prayer, reflection, and community support, these barriers begin to dissolve. One of the most empowering realizations is that spiritual growth is a lifelong process. No matter your age or season in life, there is always room for new aspects of your identity to emerge, guided by God’s plan. This ongoing revelation means we are continually becoming the fullest versions of ourselves, aligned with divine purpose. Practical steps that helped me included regular scripture reading and engaging with faith-based discussions on platforms like #faithjourney and #SpiritualGrowth to encourage and inspire me. Creating space for God in our lives isn’t passive; it requires active trust and openness to transformation. It’s comforting to know we don’t have to have it all figured out—the discovery is part of the journey itself. For anyone hesitant to follow God's path due to fear of change, remember that this journey uncovers your true self rather than erasing who you are. By letting go of the need to prove yourself and embracing vulnerability, inner growth is nurtured. This process ultimately leads to greater self-acceptance and alignment with the unique person God intended you to be.
