If you’re looking to unwind and soak up some sun, Folly Beach is just a short drive away. I spent a blissful afternoon there, just lying on the sand with a book, listening to the ocean. It’s the perfect antidote to semester stress and a great way to enjoy the coastal beauty. Don't forget to explore the arched market hall too; it’s a fantastic place to pick up local items like a cozy sweatshirt, handmade crafts, or unique gifts to remember your trip. A huge tip for fellow college students: Charleston is incredibly walkable, especially downtown, so you can save a lot on transportation costs. Look for student discounts on tours or attractions if you can! We found some great local eateries that were delicious and didn’t break the bank, which is always a plus. Pack comfortable shoes because you'll want to explore every corner. And seriously, don't underestimate the power of a good tour guide – they make the history and culture so much more engaging.
