Another key remedy I've found helpful is maintaining correct posture, particularly when sitting and standing for long periods. Using an ergonomic chair or a lumbar support cushion can alleviate pressure on the sciatic nerve. Additionally, over-the-counter anti-inflammatory medications, such as ibuprofen, often provide temporary relief but should be used cautiously. In more severe cases, gentle yoga poses focused on hamstring and lower back stretches can promote flexibility and diminish nerve irritation. However, it's essential to avoid sudden or strenuous movements that might worsen the pain. Moreover, staying active with low-impact activities like walking or swimming supports blood circulation and nerve healing. Finally, consulting a healthcare professional for personalized treatment, including physical therapy or other interventions, is crucial if pain intensifies or persists. Combining these remedies with rest and gradual physical activity helped me regain mobility and reduced episodes where the pain felt overwhelming, like nearly passing out.
