the Lord rejoices to see the work begin.

“Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin.”

Zechariah 4:10 (NIV)

This verse has really been speaking to me lately.

I’m just doing what I believe God is asking me to do — writing these devotionals and slowly getting my YouTube prayer and Bible study channel going.

Some days it all feels so small. Like I’m taking tiny steps that might not be making much difference. But I keep reminding myself… even though it might look like a small step right now, God might be doing something big with that small step.

This is how things start to bubble up, you know? One obedient step at a time.

If you’re in a season where what God has asked you to do feels small and slow too, I just want you to know — He sees every single step. And He rejoices over your beginning.

Keep showing up, sweet friend. 💛

What small thing do you feel God asking you to do right now? I’d love to hear it in the comments.

... Read moreStarting small is often viewed as insignificant, yet it holds the power to transform our lives profoundly. When I reflect on Zechariah 4:10, "Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin," it reassures me that every humble start holds divine favor. This perspective has helped me embrace my own journey, especially when launching a YouTube prayer and Bible study channel, an effort that initially felt modest and slow. Patience and faith are essential as we walk through seasons marked by seemingly minor progress. One personal insight is how consistent small efforts, though invisible to many at first, gradually develop into meaningful outcomes. It’s like planting seeds; growth requires time and care before the harvest. Each small step, taken obediently, aligns with God's greater plan even if the impact isn't immediately clear. If you find yourself feeling discouraged because your efforts seem small or unnoticed, remind yourself that these are the beginnings God delights in. Every act of faith, every quiet prayer, and every moment spent in reflection contributes to a bigger picture only God fully understands. This truth encourages me to keep moving forward, knowing that God celebrates these efforts and is working through them. I recommend setting small, achievable goals in your spiritual walk or any God-inspired project. Celebrate these milestones. Share your progress with a community of faith or friends who uplift you. This fellowship keeps motivation alive and provides encouragement during slower seasons. Above all, be gentle with yourself. Growth is not always visible immediately but trust that God's hand is in the process. His joy in our beginnings invites us to persevere, assured that small steps lead to significant spiritual breakthroughs. What small step will you take today? Whether it’s offering a kind word, dedicating time to prayer, or beginning a new project, remember: God rejoices at every start, and so should you.
