Have you ever considered a triple date? It's like a regular date, but with double the fun and half the pressure! My friends and I recently had an absolutely epic one in Los Angeles, and it got me thinking about all the ways to make these group outings unforgettable. If you're looking to elevate your next night out, here’s my take on planning the perfect triple date. First off, why a triple date? For me, it's about shared laughter and new perspectives. You get to enjoy conversations with more people, which often leads to hilarious moments and less pressure on any one couple to carry the conversation. Plus, it can be a great way to introduce friends to each other or strengthen existing bonds. Planning is crucial for a smooth triple date. My biggest tip? Communicate openly with all three couples beforehand. Discuss what kind of vibe everyone is looking for – are you all foodies, adventurers, or just want a relaxed evening? For our LA adventure, we knew we wanted a mix of unique food experiences and some brain-teasing fun. This led us to amazing spots like the highly-rated Korean bakery Coin Du Rue for pastries and, later, the unique cilantro and peanut ice cream at Liu's Ice Cream in Ktown – truly a 13/10 experience! Knowing everyone’s interests helps tailor the day to be enjoyable for all. Also, don't shy away from discussing budget. It saves so much awkwardness later if everyone is on the same page about how much they're comfortable spending. Now, for activity ideas beyond just our LA itinerary! If you're all about food, consider a progressive dinner where each course is at a different restaurant, similar to how we hopped from pastries to Thai food at Lacha Somtum and then to dessert. Or, try a cooking class! For those who love a challenge, escape rooms are a fantastic choice. We tackled 'Inksidious' at 66 Escape and 'Lab Rat' at Hatch Escape, and both were incredibly immersive. You could also try axe throwing, bowling, or even a mini-golf tournament. If a more relaxed vibe is what you're after, a scenic hike followed by a picnic, a brewery tour, or visiting an an art gallery could be perfect. Consider the logistics too. Carpooling can be a lifesaver, especially in spread-out cities like Los Angeles. And when it comes to splitting bills, apps like Splitwise are your best friend. Most importantly, remember to be flexible. Not everything will go exactly to plan, and that’s part of the fun. The goal is to create shared memories, so embrace the unexpected! So, gather your favorite couples, pick a theme – whether it's an 'ultimate foodie adventure' or a day of 'escape artist' challenges – and start planning. A triple date is more than just an outing; it's an opportunity for amplified fun and friendship. Happy dating!
