"You know, the neon fish is only an inch small, but it glows like an underwater neon light!
The neon fish, or the scientific name Paracheirodon innesi, is a small freshwater fish from the Amazon River basin in South America. Its natural habitat is a small river that is relatively dark and shaded by dense forests.
Most notably, the luminous blue stripes along the body and the bright red halves make them reflective even in dark water. These colors are not just beautiful, but they help them swim in flocks and see each other more clearly.
Food: Eat plankton, insect larvae, and small organisms. Or if raised in an aquarium, they like small foods and red mites.
Living: Like to live together in large herds to reduce the risk from predators. When swimming simultaneously, the whole herd will look like a very beautiful 'moving light'.
Survival: In addition to the pack, its tiny size and fast swimming make it difficult for enemies to catch, and its fluorescent color confuses predators when they attack.
