1. search up on Klook: Jean Making Workshop (in Ebisu, Tokyo)
2. the flat fee is around $150 USD but trust me it’s worth it because japanese denim is very high quality!
3. the staff there were so nice and guided you through every step
4. after you pick your fit of denim (they have different fits to choose from and the choice of a denim jacket or a denim skirt!) they can alter the length complementary so it fits you perfectly
5. they let you pick your own rivets, button, and patches and teach you how to situate it onto your denim
overall rating: 5/5!!
⚛️ definitely worth coming for the work shop and is a good memorabilia to bring home!!

This workshop, with a flat fee of around $150 USD, is well worth the cost given the exceptional quality of the denim sourced from Okayama, Japan's famous denim producing region. During the workshop, participants get to select from various fits including jeans, skirts, or jackets, tailoring their garment to their personal style. On top of choosing the perfect fit, you also get the exciting opportunity to customize your denim with rivets, buttons, and unique patches. Watching the staff guide you through placing each rivet and stitching the button is both educational and fun — you learn not only about denim construction but also about the heritage of Japanese denim craftsmanship. One highlight mentioned by previous guests is the option to add special patches, although some may incur extra cost; these details add a truly personal touch to your denim piece. Upon completion, your garment is perfectly altered to your measurements with a complementary length adjustment, ensuring the perfect fit. The workshop also provides a cute tote bag featuring the Betty Smith logo to carry your brand-new denim creation, making it a wonderful souvenir of your visit to Japan.
