Art fight attack/revenge/ friendly fire

Hey everyone! If you're into digital art or original characters (OCs), you've probably heard of Art Fight. It's this amazing annual event where artists 'attack' each other with art – basically, drawing characters for other participants! But what about 'friendly fire'? That's when you draw art for someone on *your own team*. It sounds a bit counter-intuitive, right? But it's actually a super fun way to boost your team's points and show some love to your teammates! I absolutely love participating in Art Fight, and friendly fire is such a unique aspect. It's not just about attacking the opposing team; it's also about building camaraderie within your own team. I often find myself doing friendly fire attacks when I see a really cool OC from a teammate, or if I want to help someone reach a certain attack count. It's a great way to practice different character styles and experiment without the pressure of 'attacking' an opponent. This year, I had a blast with Team Fossils! You might have spotted some of my recent friendly fire pieces. For instance, I got to draw this mischievous dark gray fox-like character sporting a red scarf and holding an ice cream cone – super fun! I also had the chance to bring to life a cute chocolate-colored melting ice cream character, complete with a waffle-cone skirt, which was a sweet challenge. And who could forget the adorable pink, cow-like character with those big blue eyes and a yellow belly? Each friendly fire attack is a little gift, a way to say 'Hey, I love your OC and I'm rooting for our team!' One of the best things about friendly fire is the element of surprise. My teammates always get a kick out of seeing their characters pop up in my gallery unexpectedly. It adds an extra layer of excitement to the whole event. When I'm choosing who to attack with friendly fire, I usually scroll through my team's roster, looking for OCs that spark my imagination or have unique design elements. Sometimes it's about helping a teammate who hasn't received many attacks yet, offering a little boost of encouragement. Other times, it's simply because a character's design is just too irresistible not to draw. The sense of community during Art Fight, especially within your team, is truly special. Friendly fire contributes so much to that positive atmosphere, making it feel less like a competition and more like a massive collaborative art party. It's a fantastic opportunity to see how other artists interpret your characters, and in turn, to interpret theirs. It’s definitely a highlight of my art year!
