5. Yotsuba&!vol1
This year, I've truly embraced a mix of physical books and audiobooks, especially enjoying manga titles that bring vibrant stories to life. I'm someone who values the tactile experience of holding a physical book, flipping through pages, and even the smell of paper—it’s something digital formats can’t quite replicate. Audiobooks have also become my go-to during commutes or when I just want to relax without straining my eyes. While I don’t currently own a Kindle or e-reader, I’m excited about the possibility of owning one soon. E-readers offer a perfect balance—allowing you to carry numerous titles at once without the bulk. However, for now, my shelf is filled with manga volumes like "Spirit Away," which I've yet to watch as a movie, "Sakura, Saku Vol. 1," and "Ao Haru Ride Vol. 1," each providing a unique story and art style. An interesting point for manga lovers is how physical copies differ from digital. Manga art is intricate, and details sometimes get lost on smaller digital screens, especially phones. Having a larger e-reader or tablet could change that, giving a better reading experience without losing the convenience. But for me, until then, enjoying those colorful pages physically is a pleasure. Additionally, I’m exploring titles like "My Sister Took My Fiancé and Now I’m Being Courted by a Beastly Prince Vol. 2"—a captivating story combining romance and fantasy elements that keep me hooked. "Yotsuba&! Vol.1" brings lighthearted humor and slice-of-life vibes, perfect for relaxing moments. Spotify’s audiobook selection has also been pleasantly surprising, particularly for manga adaptations or light novels. Hearing a story narrated can add a new dimension, with voice actors bringing characters to life, enhancing emotional depth and character development. Whether you’re a long-time manga fan or new to the genre, balancing physical books and audiobooks can enhance your reading journey. It allows you to engage with stories in different ways and fits various lifestyle moments. I highly recommend trying both formats to see what resonates best with you—perhaps like me, you’ll find joy in both physical pages and captivating narrations.
