Shadow is not sovereign
#Shadowwork #shadow #notsovereign
In my personal experience with shadowwork, I've learned that the 'shadow' aspect of ourselves—often representing our hidden fears, desires, and unresolved emotions—is not inherently sovereign. This means it does not possess ultimate authority over our being but rather exists as a part of the whole self that can influence us if unchecked. Shadowwork involves engaging with these shadow aspects consciously, rather than letting them control us subconsciously. When we treat the shadow as sovereign, we risk being overwhelmed by its power, leading to imbalance in our mental and emotional wellbeing. Instead, recognizing that the shadow serves as a guide or messenger allows us to integrate these hidden parts healthily. The idea of sovereignty in spiritual contexts often refers to self-mastery and the ability to govern one's internal and external experiences effectively. From the perspective of the infernal divine and certain left-hand path practices, sovereignty is linked to embracing the entirety of one's being—including both light and shadow—but maintaining awareness that shadow elements are not the ruling force. Overall, shadowwork is a transformative journey that requires courage and honesty. By acknowledging that the shadow is not sovereign, individuals can reclaim their power, achieving greater alignment with their authentic selves. Integrating shadow aspects thoughtfully leads to profound growth and empowerment rather than submission to hidden fears or limiting beliefs.
